With the Smart Band 8, Xiaomi has a first! A smartwatch that can be worn in different ways, allowing the Smart Band 8 to support you even better during your workout. This smartwatch doesn't just go on your wrist, but can also be worn as a necklace and can even be attached to your shoe for the most accurate measurements during your running session.
The Smart Band 8 has a 1.62 inch 60Hz AMOLED display with a brightness of no less than 600 nits, so the screen is perfectly readable in any situation. With standard use, the Smart Band 8 lasts up to sixteen days on a single charge. The Smart Band 8 also supports fast charging and is therefore fully charged within an hour. With the new Always On Display, the screen stays on continuously and so always shows the clock. That way, you can use the Band 8 as a normal watch too!
Sporty
With the Smart Band 8, exercising is fun again! The smartwatch supports up to 150 sports, now even including boxing. This is possible thanks to the addition of the acceleration sensor. With the 6-axis motion sensors, the Band 8 tracks all your movements while you exercise. Thanks to Xiaomi's design choices, the Band 8 is water resistant up to 5 ATM, so you can simply keep the fitness tracker on while swimming.
Of course, this fitness tracker also measures your heart rate and blood oxygen saturation 24/7. With the improved Sleep mode, the Band 8 keeps measuring throughout the night and, the next morning, shows all the information about your light, deep and REM sleep.
Design
Xiaomi has put a lot of energy into the unique design of the Smart Band 8. The smartwatch has an elongated oval shape with a large 1.62 inch AMOLED display. The strong frame is made of metal for a very robust whole. Furthermore, the Smart Band 8 has no buttons; instead, you operate the smartwatch via the touchscreen or via your phone.
For the strap, Xiaomi developed a new click system. This means the Smart Band 8 can also be used as a necklace, with the Smart Band 8 still tracking your steps and showing the time. As a second new way of wearing it, the Smart Band 8 can be placed in a 'running pod', a separate product with which you attach the Smart Band 8 to your running shoe. This measures your cadence, your stride length and even the impact of your foot on the ground while running!
Handy English app
You can pair the Smart Band 8 with an app to easily read out all the information and keep track of your progress. You connect the Band 8 to the Mi Fitness App. This is the official European Version, so you can operate the Band and the app in English, Dutch, German, French and more languages.
This app also has a boxing mode with which you can practise your various boxing moves. You can also use it to control various smart devices simply by raising your arm. And finally, Xiaomi has thought about moments of rest, so with the Smart Band 8 you can play games like Sudoku, Pinball and 2048 to relax for a bit.
