Privacy policy

TechPunt cares a lot about your privacy. That's why we only process data that we need for (improving) our services and we handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services offered on it by TechPunt B.V. The effective date of these terms is 21/07/2026; with the publication of a new version, all previous versions become invalid.

If you have any questions about our privacy policy, you can contact our contact person for privacy matters.

About the data processing

Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), which security techniques we use and who can access the data. Click on a section to read the details.

Webshop software — Shopify

Our webshop is built with software from Shopify. Personal data that you provide to us for the purpose of our services is shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data in order to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose.

Based on the agreement we have entered into with them, Shopify is obligated to take appropriate security measures. These security measures consist of the use of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Shopify is a certified processor of credit card data. Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored.

Shopify reserves the right to share collected data within its own group of companies in order to further improve its services, and takes into account the applicable legal retention periods for (personal) data. Your data may be processed in the United States; this transfer is covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Email and mailing lists — Klaviyo & Gmail

Klaviyo

Our website uses Klaviyo, a third party that handles the email traffic originating from our website and the sending of any newsletters. Newsletters and marketing emails you receive from us are sent via Klaviyo's servers. To do so, Klaviyo processes your name, email address and information about your orders and your use of our website, so that we can send you relevant messages. Klaviyo will never use your data for its own commercial purposes.

At the bottom of every email that is sent automatically via our website, you'll find the 'unsubscribe' link. If you click it, you'll no longer receive marketing emails from our website. Your personal data is stored securely by Klaviyo. Klaviyo uses cookies and other internet technologies that reveal whether emails are opened and read. Klaviyo is a U.S. company; your data may be processed in the United States. The EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies to this transfer, and we have entered into a data processing agreement with Klaviyo.

Gmail

For our regular business email traffic, we use the services of Gmail. This party has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Gmail does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.

Payments — Shopify Payments

To handle (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the Shopify Payments platform. Shopify Payments processes your name, address and place of residence details, and your payment information, such as your bank account or credit card number. TechPunt B.V. has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data.

Shopify Payments reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymized) data with third parties. In the event of a request for deferred payment (credit facility), Shopify Payments shares personal data and information regarding your financial position with credit rating agencies. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Shopify Payments' services for which they engage third parties. Shopify Payments does not retain your data longer than is permitted under the statutory retention periods.

Reviews — Kiyoh

We collect reviews through the Kiyoh platform. If you leave a review via Kiyoh, you are required to provide your name and email address. Kiyoh shares this data with us so that we can link the review to your order. In some cases, Kiyoh may contact you to ask for clarification on your review.

In the event that we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with Kiyoh. They use this data solely for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. Kiyoh has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Kiyoh reserves the right to engage third parties for the purpose of providing its services; we have given Kiyoh permission to do so. All the safeguards mentioned also apply to the parts of the service for which Kiyoh engages third parties. Kiyoh is a Dutch company; your data is processed within the European Union.

Shipping and logistics — DHL, DPD & UPS

When you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of DHL, DPD and UPS to carry out deliveries. Which carrier delivers your package depends on, among other things, the product, your location and the chosen shipping option.

To do this, it is necessary for us to share your name, address and residence details, and where needed your email address and/or phone number for track & trace notifications, with the relevant carrier. DHL, DPD and UPS use this data only for the purpose of carrying out the agreement. In the event that these carriers engage subcontractors, they will also make your data available to those parties.

Invoicing and bookkeeping — Exact

To keep track of our administration and bookkeeping, we use the services of Exact. We share your name, address and residence details, and information related to your order. This data is used to administer sales invoices. Your personal data is transmitted and stored securely. Exact is bound by confidentiality and will treat your data confidentially. Exact does not use your personal data for any purposes other than those described above.

Purpose of the data processing

General purpose of the processing

We use your data solely for the purpose of our services. This means the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the order you place. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time — other than at your request — we will ask for your explicit consent to do so. Your data is not shared with third parties, other than to meet accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality on the basis of the agreement between them and us, or an oath or legal obligation.

Automatically collected data

Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This data (for example, your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data.

Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations

In certain cases, TechPunt B.V. may be required by law to share your data in connection with a governmental tax or criminal investigation. In such a case, we are obliged to share your data, but we will oppose this within the possibilities the law offers us.

Retention periods

We retain your data for as long as you are a client of ours. This means we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you let us know this, we will also treat it as an erasure request. It also means we will not keep your data for longer than two years from the last point of contact or the last transaction, unless there is a legal justification to do so. Under applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data; we therefore keep this data for as long as the applicable period runs. However, employees will no longer have access to your client profile or to documents we created in connection with your order.

Your rights

Under applicable Dutch and European law, you as the data subject have certain rights regarding the personal data processed by us or on our behalf. As a rule, to prevent misuse, we only send statements and copies of your data to the email address we already have on file for you. If you wish to receive the data at a different email address or by post, we will ask you to verify your identity. We keep a record of processed requests; in the case of an erasure request, we record anonymized data. You will receive all statements and copies in the machine-readable data format we use within our systems.

You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at any time if you suspect that we are using your personal data incorrectly.

Right of access

You always have the right to view the data we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a copy of all the data to the email address we have on file, along with an overview of the processors who hold this data, stating the category under which we have stored this data.

Right to rectification

You always have the right to have the data we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you corrected. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a confirmation to the email address we have on file stating that the data has been corrected.

Right to restriction of processing

You always have the right to have the processing of data that relates to you or can be traced back to you restricted. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send a confirmation to the email address we have on file stating that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right to data portability

You always have the right to have the data we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you transferred to another party. You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send transcripts or copies of all the data about you that we have processed, or that has been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties, to the email address we have on file. In such a case, we will most likely no longer be able to continue providing our services, because the secure linking of data files can then no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

Where applicable, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of TechPunt B.V. If you object, we'll immediately stop processing the data pending the handling of your objection. If your objection is justified, we'll make copies and/or duplicates of the data we process (or have processed) available to you and then permanently stop the processing.

You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We don't process your data in a way that makes this right applicable. If you believe this is the case, please contact our privacy contact person.

Cookies

Google Analytics

Cookies from the American company Google are placed via our website as part of the "Analytics" service. We use this service to track and get reports on how visitors use the website. This processor may be required under applicable laws and regulations to provide access to this data. We collect information about your browsing behavior and share this data with Google. Google can interpret this information in combination with other data sets and thereby track your movements on the internet. Google uses this information to offer, among other things, targeted ads (Google Ads) and other Google services and products.

Third-party cookies

In the event that third-party software solutions use cookies, this is stated in this privacy statement.

Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. However, you'll always find the most recent version on this page. If the new privacy policy affects the way we process data we've already collected about you, we'll let you know by email.
