With the metal rotary dial, you set the blade yourself to between 0.5 and 1.7 mm, in steps of 0.3 mm. That's the range for contours and transitions. Two attachment combs from 2 to 14 mm and 16 to 28 mm adjust in 2 mm increments.

Cuts that stay cool and sharp

The fixed blade is made of metal and features a double coating of DLC and graphene. This keeps friction low, so the blade won't get uncomfortably warm on your scalp. The moving blade is ceramic, with rounded tips that are gentle on your skin.

Doesn't get stuck in thick hair

If the trimmer runs into thick or tangled hair, it automatically adjusts the power to match the load. This keeps the blade moving smoothly instead of stalling. That means less pulling on the hair and no need to go over the same spot again and again.

Two speeds for every hair type

The powerful setting is for thick, dense hair. The gentle setting runs slower and works better for fine hair. This way you can trim your own hairstyle and that of the rest of the family with the same clipper, without switching devices.

Battery for three hours of cutting

The battery lasts up to 180 minutes in the powerful mode. That's enough for about six half-hour cutting sessions, so you don't have to put it on the charger after every session.

Charging is done via USB-C and takes about 2.5 hours. A regular USB charger, your laptop or a power bank works too. If the battery does run out halfway through, you just keep cutting with the cable plugged in.

On the digital display you can see the battery charge, the selected speed and an alert when the blade needs maintenance. With the travel lock you prevent the clipper from switching on in your bag.

Waterproof according to IPX7

Rinse under the tap

The Xiaomi Hair Clipper 2 is waterproof to IPX7. After trimming, you rinse the blade and housing all at once under the tap. Submerging it in a basin of water isn't the idea, but running water is fine.

Wipe away stray hairs in tricky spots with the included brush. Then dry the blade well. A drop of clipper oil keeps the mechanism running smoothly, and the display shows you when it's time for maintenance again.

The box contains a cutting cape, a comb, a sponge, two attachment combs and a USB-C cable. Start with the longest attachment comb — you can always go shorter.

What's the difference between the Xiaomi Hair Clipper and the Xiaomi Hair Clipper 2?

The Hair Clipper 2 features a full metal fixed blade with a DLC and graphene coating, whereas the first version had a semi-metal blade. The attachment combs adjust in 2 mm increments instead of 3 mm. It also has a digital display instead of a status light, and a metal dial.

Can you use the Xiaomi Hair Clipper 2 while it's charging?

Yes. You can cut cordless or with the USB-C cable plugged in. The box only includes the cable, no plug. A 5V USB charger you already have works perfectly, as does a laptop or power bank.

Can you shave your head completely bald with the Xiaomi Hair Clipper 2?

No. The shortest setting is 0.5 mm. So trimming down to a buzz cut works fine, but it won't get completely smooth. For that you'll need a shaver.

Can you cut children's hair with the Xiaomi Hair Clipper 2?

That's possible, with the gentle setting that spins more slowly. For children, though, Xiaomi recommends a clipper that's made especially for kids. If you cut your own hair, always have an adult help you.
