Homey Pro brings all your smart devices together, everything can be controlled from one point. Improved on all fronts, the Homey Pro is faster and has a longer range than its predecessor, so you can be sure that all your smart devices are connected and stay connected.

Bells and whistles

The Homey Pro uses the latest technologies to connect all the devices in your home so you can control everything with your smartphone. The Homey Pro has as many as 8 different types of connections. For example, it now supports Dual Band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz) and uses bluetooth 5.0 (ble) for a blazingly fast connection. It can also control infrared products and a 433MHz connection is possible.

What is new about the Homey is that it now also supports Z-wave Plus 700 and Zigbee with products that do not officially offer Z-Wave Plus or Zigbee support. The Homey itself can control these products and have them included in this new connectivity feature. Later in the Early Access track, Matter and Thread will also become available for the Homey Pro.

100% coverage

The Homey has greatly improved coverage, for example, the range of the infrared signal is a whopping four times greater than its predecessor. Also, the Zigbee, Z-wave and 433MHz signals are up to 1.5 times stronger. The Homey Pro is still in Early Access which means the various new connections will be rolled out one by one, this is completely free and will be available to everyone.

You use the Homey Pro with Wi-Fi, but it can also be connected via a physical Ethernet cable. However, the Homey Pro does not need an Internet connection to work, everything is done locally and thus continues to work even if your Internet goes down. Doing tasks locally brings even more benefits, such as increased security and even lower connection delays. You can also back up locally, eliminating your reliance on cloud storage. Finally, the Homey Pro can connect to LAN devices such as a Chromecast.

The Homey Pro also supports several ways to access your network from anywhere else, for example, port forwarding is supported to make a direct connection when you're on the go. And you can create local API keys to use your network without the Cloud wherever you are.

You can also add Homey Bridge to your Homey Pro to take advantage of satellite mode. Zigbee and Z-wave can thus extend your mesh network, while the 433MHz connection and infrared sensor can control nearby devices for a stable connection to all the devices in your home.

Powerhouse

The Homey Pro has not only had a software upgrade, but major improvements have also been made in terms of hardware. For example, it now has a 1.8GHz CPU that is up to 3.5 times more powerful, the LPDDR4 RAM memory and storage capacity have also been doubled.

With the Homey Pro, you can also use Advanced Flow, which allows you to perform advanced automations. Advanced Flow is a comprehensive software to let all devices communicate in sync with each other and has endless possibilities, this software comes standard with the Homey Pro and is free. And if this is not comprehensive enough, you can also get started with Homey Script, which allows you to create your own scripts for your specific situations.
