Smart and multifunctional
The Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock offers various ways to open the door. You can choose fingerprint recognition, a permanent password, a temporary password or a one-time password. In addition, you can unlock the lock via bluetooth with your smartphone, remotely through the app or, if needed, with a physical key. When the lock is connected to ecosystems like Alexa, Google or Apple, voice control is supported as well. This means the lock can be integrated into a broader smart home setup. By combining multiple unlocking methods, access stays flexible for different users such as family members, guests or temporary visitors.
Real-time control
When the lock is connected to wifi and bluetooth, you can manage it through the Xiaomi Home app. From the app you can check the status of the lock, receive notifications and view unlocking logs. This lets you see, for example, when a family member gets home or when the door is opened. The app can also send alerts. Think of notifications for when the door is left open, when several failed unlocking attempts are made or when an emergency fingerprint is used. In addition, you can remotely check whether the door is locked and, if needed, operate the lock from a distance.
Automatic locking
The Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock can lock automatically when the door is closed. Using a door sensor, the lock detects when the door shuts and automatically activates the lock after a set delay. When no door sensor is installed, the lock can still lock automatically based on a preset time after the door has been unlocked. This feature is turned off by default and can easily be activated through the app.
Layered security
The lock is designed with multiple security layers. The fingerprint recognition uses a semiconductor sensor with algorithm-driven detection. This allows the system to recognize fingerprints with an identification rate of 99.3%. The lock also supports a virtual password. This lets you enter random digits before and after the real password, making the correct password less visible to bystanders. The keypad also includes a special feature that sends a notification when the panel is removed. Security is further supported by an MJA1 chipset and certification to the European cybersecurity standard EN18031. This means the lock offers protection at both the hardware and software level.
Installation without drilling
As the name suggests, the Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock is designed for easy installation. The lock can be mounted without drilling or permanent changes to the door. You install the lock on the inside of the door with the key in the lock or on the door handle.
The system is compatible with the existing lock structure, making installation possible without modifying the original lock. This makes the lock suitable for situations where you don't want to make permanent changes, for example with existing doors or homes where you want to keep the original lock.
