Get to know the Zendure Home Battery

Get more out of your solar panels - even after 2027

Do you have solar panels and want to get the most out of your self-generated electricity? Then now's the time to prepare for the future. Starting January 1, 2027, the net metering scheme will be phased out, and you'll no longer be able to offset the electricity you feed into your grid directly against your consumption. You'll then only receive a feed-in tariff, which will be at least 50% of the base supply tariff until 2029. In other words: those who take smart steps now will reap the maximum benefits later.

Meet Zendure

Zendure is a relatively young but rapidly growing energy tech startup (founded in 2017) with headquarters in Silicon Valley, China, Japan, and Germany. Their mission is to make reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions accessible to households worldwide. From portable SuperBase stations to innovative balcony storage systems like the SolarFlow 800 Pro and 2400 AC, Zendure focuses on smart, practical products. Their recent "Top Innovation Award 2025" underscores their leadership in balcony PV storage in Europe.

Plug & Play convenience

A major advantage of Zendure is that both systems are designed to be used without complicated installation. With a home battery, you avoid unnecessary feed-in costs and maximize the use of your solar panels – now and after 2027.

  • SolarFlow 2400 AC: ideal if you already have a rooftop system. Simply plug it in and expand it to 17.3 kWh of storage. Perfect for handling high peaks and lowering your energy bill.
  • SolarFlow 800 Pro: the most truly plug-and-play home battery. An all-in-one set with a built-in inverter and battery, specifically designed for balcony or small roof panels. Perfect if you want to start small or get started right away without an electrician.

Zendure SolarFlow 2400 AC  - Expandable storage for rooftop installations

This system is ideal for those who already have solar panels on their roof. You simply connect it to a wall socket, while retaining your existing inverter.

How charging works:
The 2400 AC is AC-coupled. The power from your roof inverter first feeds into your home's electrical system. The SolarFlow then converts this alternating current to direct current to charge the batteries.

How discharging works:

  • When does it use the battery? The 2400 AC monitors the power flow live via a smart meter (e.g., P1 for the Netherlands). If it detects that your household requires grid power and the battery is sufficiently charged, it will discharge the power required (e.g., 600 W demand = 600 W from the battery). If it detects a return, it will stop discharging and start charging.
  • Power limits: Standard 800 W plug-and-play. For up to 2,400 W, have an electrician connect the unit to a separate circuit; you can then request/enable this in the app.
  • Emergency power (UPS): In the event of a power outage, the SolarFlow 2400 AC switches almost immediately to its dedicated off-grid output. Within about 15 milliseconds, the battery takes over, and the connected equipment continues to run. Through this emergency power circuit, the system delivers up to 2,400 watts continuously and can handle brief surges of 3,600 watts (up to 10 seconds), for example, when starting a refrigerator or other appliance with high starting power. Simultaneously, the unit automatically stops feeding power back into the grid, as required by law for safe operation.

Expandability:
You can start with a single 2.88 kWh AB3000X battery and expand up to six modules, for a total of 17.28 kWh of storage. Charging and discharging is possible up to 2400 W, with a mains discharge standard of 200–800 W (adjustable via the app after a safety check).

Zendure SolarFlow 800 Pro - all-in-one for balconies and small roofs

Specially designed for smaller installations such as balcony panels or a small roof. This compact kit includes both an inverter and a battery, and connects directly to your solar panels via DC for maximum efficiency.

How charging works:
The 800 Pro features four separate MPPT inputs , allowing each string to be monitored individually for optimal efficiency. Each input operates from 14 to 55 V with a maximum current of 18 A, providing a total of 2,640 W of PV input (4 x 660 W). During the day, the DC power goes directly to the internal battery and any backup batteries. When home consumption is high, it continuously feeds up to 800 W back into your grid. When the battery is full, it automatically switches to bypass, allowing the sun to power your home directly.

Even without sunlight, the 800 Pro can charge from the mains, for example, at night when rates are low (max. 1,000 W AC charging power). It also has a backup power output of 1,000 W continuous (1,400 W peak).

How discharging works:

  • When does it use the battery? The 800 Pro is DC-coupled to your panels and manages self-consumption. It uses smart meters/plugs and tariff data to choose when to discharge; when the home demands it, it feeds up to 800 W back into your grid (grid-tied).
  • Power channels: Grid-tied output: max 800 W to your home/grid.
  • Emergency power outlet: 1,000 W continuous (1,200 W peak, 10 s). In the event of a power outage, it switches over in ≈15 ms for the devices connected to this outlet. If you combine grid-tied and off-grid use, please note a total limit of 1,000 W.
  • Control & Protection: The 800 Pro can schedule charge/discharge based on dynamic rates and maintains a minimum SOC reserve to protect the battery; this is adjustable via the app.

Expandability:
The 800 Pro starts with 1.92 kWh of storage and can be expanded up to 11.52 kWh with five additional  AB2000X modules. These LiFePO₄ batteries have a long lifespan (≥ 6,000 cycles), are IP65 waterproof, and charge/discharge quickly: one AB2000X can deliver ± 1,680 W, two or more together ± 1,920 W.

Smart energy management with HEMS

Both systems work with Zendure's Home Energy Management System (HEMS) . ZENKI , a self-learning AI model, continuously optimizes your energy consumption. This allows you to charge when electricity prices are low or when the sun is shining brightly, and discharge your batteries when it's expensive. This can save up to 42% on your energy bill.

Why choose Zendure SolarFlow?

  • Easy installation without major adjustments

  • Intelligent energy management based on real-time data

  • Reliable emergency power function in case of failure

  • Durable LiFePO₄ batteries with long lifespan

  • Weatherproof IP65 outdoor enclosure

Ready for the future

The abolition of the net metering scheme makes it more important than ever to use your generated electricity yourself. With a Zendure SolarFlow system, you maximize the use of your solar panels, keep control of your energy costs, and increase your independence – now and after 2027.
